The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents
RoSPA is the largest safety organisation in the world. It was founded in 1911 and received Royal Charter in 1918. Her Majesty the Queen is the Patron. The play safety inspection side of RoSPA is the largest such service in the world and they inspect over 13,000 playgrounds a year in the UK alone.
Barbara Lingard is a qualified Early Childhood Education professional. She is the Early Childcare Education representative on the New Zealand Standards Playground Safety Committee and joint author of the Playground Standards Handbook. Barbara is on the Register of Play Inspections International qualified to Level 3 Annual Inspector and has more than 25 years experience in the field of Early Childhood Education including the design and installation of playground equipment as part of the outdoor learning environment. Barbara is involved in the detailed design of outdoor learning environments in both New Zealand and Overseas and has spoken at numerous seminars, workshops and conferences on these issues.
The Central North Island Kindergarten Trust offers professional development courses during the first, second and third term breaks. Courses are free for employees of the Central North Island Kindergarten Trust.
