With some yummy fry bread in our puku, we were ready to learn about Te Wiki o te Reo Māori | Māori Language Week.  The theme for this year was chosen to celebrate New Zealand Indigenous greetings.

Throughout the week, the children will have the opportunity to participate in waiata and learn some new songs in te reo.  Angela and the tamariki have started to make some koru and are decorating them for the wall.

Here at Balmoral, children are learning about their own and other cultures which is promoted and projected.  Children's culture finds a place in the programme through song, language, pictures, resources and dance (Te Whāriki 2017)
