We create a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive environment where tamariki and whānau feel a genuine sense of belonging, connection, and care. We value strong partnerships with parents and caregivers, working together to support the wellbeing of each tamaiti to learn and grow.
Whanaungatanga is central to life here. We nurture meaningful connections between tamariki, whānau, kaiako and the wider Matamata community, helping every child feel known, valued and supported.
Our kindergarten is well resourced and offers a spacious outdoor environment where tamariki can explore, take on challenges, follow their curiosity and learn through play. We value play as a meaningful way for tamariki to learn more about themselves, others and the world around them.
Learning through te taiao, the natural environment, is an important part of our programme. As an Enviroschools kindergarten, we support tamariki to develop respect for the environment and grow confidence as kaitiaki of their place. Tamariki are actively involved in caring for gardens, exploring sustainable practices, noticing seasonal change and learning how their actions can make a positive difference for people and the planet.
Guided by Te Whāriki, we create opportunities for tamariki to become confident, capable, and curious learners. Tamariki are supported to develop friendships, build social skills, care for themselves and others, contribute as valued members of our kindergarten community, and explore their interests through investigation, creativity and discovery.
Te reo Māori me ōna tikanga are woven naturally through our everyday practice, strengthening tamariki sense of identity, belonging and connection to Aotearoa.
We feel privileged to walk alongside whānau as partners in their tamaiti’s early learning journey.
Nau mai, haere mai - we warmly welcome you to visit Rāwhiti Kindergarten and experience the special sense of belonging, care and learning that makes our kindergarten unique.
