I do hope that most of you were able to get some down time over the last 2 weeks, but I am aware that many of you like Kylie Reneti and her staff (Kathryn, Michele, Fiona, Sonya and Jolene) from Central Kids Kindergartens – Edgecumbe were not able to get much time at all. In fact, a huge bouquet goes out to them for running a kindergarten holiday programme each day over the 2 weeks out of Otakiri Playcentre. Each day they got between 11 and 18 children. A true example of how the Edgecumbe people have come together to support one another in this time of need.

The kindergarten, like the 2 schools in Edgecumbe, was able to re-open on day one of this term, and like the schools they are reporting only minimal absences. It showed that families appreciated being able to provide some normality for their children.
